Purchasing Specialist

Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced, small team startup environment.  We are open to a hybrid working arrangement, i.e. split between working remotely and being in our Charlestown office.

Qualifications / Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in purchasing, including purchasing for a technology company (‘technology’ being meant in a broad sense, including electronics, robotics, computer hardware, bio tech, etc.)
  • Experience ordering Printed Circuit Boards
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Some fluency with at least one commercial ERP system
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience using the google apps family of software.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Creating and executing purchasing processes and procedures
  • Assisting with receiving and shipping
  • Researching and identifying preferred suppliers
  • Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, negotiating purchase terms.
  • Supporting engineers in finding necessary parts and materials
  • Working closely with accounting

Compensation / Benefits

Salary for this position is strongly dependent on experience and education and expected to be between $80k and $100k.  Compensation package includes stock options, health insurance, short and long term disability, and 401k with match. Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a smart, highly-capable engineer to lead several manufacturing efforts and participate in design, development and testing of Greensight’s custom-developed flying, ground, and amphibious robots.  GreenSight is planning to expand production of two of our current robot types from a few hundred per year, to tens of thousands per year. We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to manage this transition. In this position, you would work as part of a small tight-knit development team consisting of a variety of specialized engineers.  

Qualifications / Requirements

Requirements for this position include:

  • A BS in a mechanical or manufacturing-related field, and at least two years of experience designing processes for medium to high volume production
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Comfortable communicating via Slack and email in a fast paced, small team startup environment.

Specific tasks that might be performed in this position include:

  • Optimizing metal, plastic, and composite parts for mass manufacture
  • Applying DFA principles to electromechanical assemblies
  • Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams to assure efficient manufacturability of parts and assemblies
  • Preparing manufacturing packages for external vendors and overseeing their work
  • Creating QC protocols and manufacturing documentation 
  • Working with and configuring ERP systems
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and work with appropriate teams to resolve them
  • Coordinating with R&D and manufacturing teams on launching products into high volume production
  • Formulating new methods of automating manufacturing and testing processes

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Design for Manufacturing)

We are seeking a smart, highly-capable engineer to lead projects and participate in design, development and testing of Greensight’s custom-developed UAV’s, ground, and amphibious robots. GreenSight is planning to expand production of two of our current robot types from a few hundred per year, to tens of thousands per year. We are specifically looking for a mechanical engineer with expertise designing products for cost-effective mass production. The mechanical engineer will work as part of a small tight-knit development team consisting of a variety of specialized engineers.

Qualifications / Requirements

Requirements for this position include:

  • At least a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of work experience.. 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Comfort Communicating via Slack and e-mail in a fast paced, small team startup environment.

Specific tasks that might be performed by the mechanical engineer include:

  • Completing detailed designs (sufficient for manufacture) of mechanical components in CAD
  • Optimizing parts and assemblies for mass manufacture (injection molding, for instance)
  • Overseeing manufacture of prototype components at outside vendors
  • Creating prototype components in our machine shop or via 3D printing
  • Performing structural and thermal analysis of components and assemblies
  • Contributing to company wide quality management efforts
  • Leading new project development efforts
  • Contributing to proposals and business development efforts

You should be comfortable working semi-autonomously while meeting long-term goals.

Qualifications / Requirements

Attributes relevant to the position (not all required) include:

  • MS, or PhD in robotics, embedded software, or related field and 5+ years professional (not internship) work experience
  • Localization and perception algorithms using vision, LIDAR, depth cameras and/or radar
  • Experience implementing SLAM algorithms
  • Experience developing software for autonomous robots and aircraft
  • Competency in Python, C or C++
  • Simulation development using ROS, Gazebo, Airsim and/or Unreal Engine
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate software definitions and simulation/control models for novel aircraft and robot configurations in flight control systems such as APM, PX4
